The Wild and Scenic California Salmon River is considered by many as being the best class IV/V run in the country. The combination of a lush coastal scenery, granite gorge, spectacularly clear water, and whitewater is a winning combination.

There are two main sections that people run on the Cal-Salmon. The easiest of the two- the Butler stretch- is dominated with a class IV feel.
